4 Things To Know About Mama Resch’s Gluten-Free Bakery

1. MAMA’S TOUCH

Mama Resch’s, aka Angela Resch’s, gluten-free haven was conceived when her oldest son developed health issues due to an extreme intolerance to gluten, the protein found in wheat, barley and rye. Out of desperation to let him have the same food his classmates enjoyed, she began creating her own flour blends and recipes. As the gluten-free revolution in the Resch household grew, so did the business, until it was moved out of Mama Resch’s house and into a facility at 126th Street and Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park.

2. CHANGES LIKE THE SEASONS

Classic cupcake flavors, such as chocolate, strawberry and vanilla, are always available, but flavors such as pumpkin spice and double chocolate chip change by the week and by the season. It all depends on what Mama Resch feels like baking. As the bakery grows, the plan is to introduce other flavors into the mix. On Saturdays, the bakery whips up baked doughnuts that are sure to become a favorite weekend ritual. No matter the recipe, the store has a no-gluten, no-wheat, no-soy, no-corn, no-dairy, no-peanuts, etc., allergen-friendly policy.

3. BY THE NUMBERS

Mama Resch’s has 42 menu items, including cupcakes, cookies, pizza crust, vegan breads and custom cakes, all of which can be ordered online. Sweet, savory and gluten-free, these treats are great for any occasion, but they must be ordered at least 48 hours in advance.
Tip: Not everything is available every day, so call ahead for what’s available.

4. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED

If you’re not happy, Mama’s not happy. If there’s any item that isn’t up to standards, Mama will recall it and even replace it. Mama Resch’s mission is to serve the gluten-free and food allergen community through accessibility to the best-tasting quality products the market has to offer.
