Debra Galvin, Ph.D., OTR/L is the founder and director of Dr. Deb’s Center for Child & Family Development (CCFD). Referred to as “Dr. Deb” by her clients, Dr. Galvin is a multidisciplinary professional whose education and background includes 35-plus years of experience in occupational therapy, educator/specialist in special education and educational advocacy, and developmental and child psychology.
The center provides a wide continuum of care to clients provided by highly qualified, extensively educated and highly skilled professionals from a variety of medical, educational and behavioral health disciplines. Our mission is provide an exceptional customized plan to assist children, youth and families to achieve their full potential across their lifespan. Our passion is to help our clients develop skills needed to learn, perform everyday activities, successfully communicate and function to full potential by providing comprehensive, customized, therapeutic services. We work collaboratively with families, schools and professionals to achieve the highest outcome for each client, treating “the whole child” in our 5,000-square-foot facility, as well as the client’s home and community.
Dr. Galvin is an accomplished clinician, educator and researcher. Her visions of creating a multi-disciplinary center with occupational, speech, and physical therapy and behavior intervention grew out of her established private practice of more than 30 years. The center offers a wide range of innovative services to the metropolitan Kansas City area, as well as the Midwest region.
Assessment, Diagnostics and Intervention Services: Evidence-based, and individualized and customized treatment plans. We offer genetic testing and counseling as part of our diagnostic services.
Programs designed to enhance all children, youth and families development: Social/emotional play, parent training and skill-specific therapies.

Training and Learning Opportunities for Professionals and Families: Educational offerings for the community and other professionals are offered through a variety of formats by request from other professionals, families and the community.

CCFD offers not only the professionals to identify, diagnose and intervene, but also state-of-the-art genetic testing and counseling.
