Fork In Hand
As most humble beginnings go, a young couple owned an antique shop and served simple sandwiches for lunch, not having any idea how much interest they’d spark. Soon after, lines were out the door and around the corner. Potbelly soon became a lunchtime getaway for all of the neighborhood folk.
In 1996, young entrepreneur Bryant Keil bought the original store and has since opened more than 270 shops across the country, including the new location on Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza, to spread the Potbelly love.
Potbelly makes three promises to its customers: fresh ingredients, fast service, friendly hangout. You can rest assured that your amazing, toasty sandwich will be filled with the highest quality meats, cheeses and veggies and be chopped up by the employees themselves! Their pledge to you is a line that’s always less than 8 minutes and environs full of friendly faces. During your meal, enjoy the surrounding local memorabilia, as well as live music. Potbelly is a welcoming environment that lends itself to a great neighborhood hangout. Consider a Potbelly getaway over your lunch hour!
In every Potbelly shop is an antique Potbelly stove. These stoves were widely used in stores and other public places in the late 1800s as an outpost for locals to share a meal and conversation. The stoves are kept in each shop to add that same warmth and vibe to the atmosphere. Thanks to a combination of local musicians, toasted sandwiches and delicious shakes, customers will delight in the comfort and friendly service of this neighborhood sandwich shop.
Shakes, Malts & Smoothies
For all those out there with a sweet tooth, take note: Potbelly offers tasty smoothies. And the best part is they are low-fat! That’s right. Potbelly uses light yogurt to create these fruity creations. We can’t promise that the shakes and malts are low-fat, but they are delightful indeed. Made with hand-dipped ice cream and mixed with wholesome ingredients and flavors, these treats serve as a refreshing summer snack or a sensational end to any meal!
Potbelly is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday & Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
