World Cup Watch Party
Power and Light District
It’s one more time for the Cardiac Yanks as they try to survive in the World Cup tournament in Brazil.
The U.S. soccer team beat Ghana (barely) and tied Portugal (agonizingly), and now it’s mighty Germany standing in the way of the Americans advancing to the Round of 16.
The mathematics for U.S. survival are complicated, but an upset win would keep Jurgen Klinsmann’s boys playing at least one more game.
Kansas City’s biggest watch party will again pack the Power and Light District. Well over 10,000 have shared the excitement of the two previous games, and another boisterous congregation is expected despite the 11 a.m. workday kickoff.
Five outdoor screens will show the game, as will hundreds more in the district’s bars and restaurants.
