Jeff Stehny, owner of Joe’s Kansas City BBQ, will be inducted into the Barbecue Hall of Fame at the American Royal this September. Stehny competes in the American Royal’s World Series of Barbecue every year. He created the famous Z-Man sandwich, and his restaurant is listed as one of Anthony Bourdain’s “13 Places to Eat Before You Die.”
Every year the Barbecue Hall of Fame honors three people who have made significant impact on the barbecue world. The induction ceremony is to be held Sept. 2 at the Kansas Speedway. The other honorees this year are “Famous Dave” Anderson, owner of Famous Dave’s nationwide, and Melissa Cookston, owner of Steak by Melissa and Memphis BBQ Company.
