Rieger & Co.’s Monogram Whiskey and Caffe Amaro are in the running for Best New Spirit or Cocktail Ingredient.

Doug Frost, co-founder of POPFest KC, was nominated for Global Bar Mentor. The American Master of Wine is also a well-known author in the bar industry for his insight on wine, beer and spirits.

The American and International committees, led by Spirited Awards Chairperson Charlotte Voisey, selected these nominations from a list of more than 1,000 international entries.

“To receive a top 10 nod for the Spirited Awards is a monumental accomplishment,” said Ann Tuennerman, founder of Tales of the Cocktail, in the announcement of the nominees.

Tales of the Cocktail will announce the top four nominees for each category on June 16 at 2 p.m. through Facebook Live.

Tales of the Cocktail is a cocktail festival, holding annual events catered to international bartenders, distillers and others in the spirits industry. The Spirited Awards started in 2007 “to recognize the efforts of the best and brightest professionals within the cocktail and spirits industries,” according to its website.
