Inside the closet of Jennifer Tierney

Jennifer Tierney, 35, is as known for her work with the American Youth Ballet as she is for her sweet and sassy vintage style, which was shaped by her grandmother, living throughout the country and her career as a professional ballet dancer (the Oakland Ballet and the Milwaukee Ballet are just a few companies on her résumé). In her converted bedroom closet in Overland Park, the costume designer, studio owner and American Dance Center director houses her collection of circle skirts and dresses; center stage-worthy shoes (boots, booties, heels, pumps and ballet flats); vintage handbags accented with colorful scarves; fun hats; and her signature flower accessories that are curated from thrift stores, boutiques and consignment shops like Fashionista Exchange. In her workshop, she lends her talents to creating designs that mix dance, fashion and fitness with her athletic wear line, J.tierina Designs.
