Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art Calls Creatives to Design Mini-Golf Course

The Nelson-Atkins Museum is calling all artists, architects, designers, landscapers and more from all over the United States to help design a 9-hole artist-inspired mini-golf course for summer 2018. The course will be right next to the museum’s famous shuttlecocks on the lawn of the Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park.

The golf course will highlight the museum’s collection in a new and interactive way. Ten designs will be chosen with the 10th hole designed to be off-site for marketing and promotional purposes. The designs will go through a blind review process by a team of curators, designers, museum professionals and fabrication experts.

Each design must be inspired by museum's collection or architecture and will be judged on concept, playability, safety and feasibility. The deadline to submit a design is Nov. 30, and the teams or individuals of the chosen designs will receive a $500 reward and a free pass to play unlimited mini-golf for the summer season.
