Overland Park Named One of 2017's Happiest Places to Live by WalletHub

   Wondering why everybody is smiling? WalletHub’s newest study says Overland Park is one of the happiest cities in the United States. WalletHub ranked 150 of the largest cities, and Overland Park comes in at No. 17.

  WalletHub compared the cities across three key dimensions: emotional and physical well-being, income and employment, and community and environment. The categories are then divided into 30 key indicators of happiness, like emotional health, income growth and ideal weather.

  Overland Park’s total score was 63.86 and ranked No. 32 in emotional and physical well-being, No. 17 in income and employment and No. 20 in community and environment. Overland Park also ranked No. 1 for highest adequate-sleep rate and No. 4 for lowest separation and divorce rate.

  Kansas City, Missouri, ranked in the middle of the pack at No. 80. Fremont, California, a suburb of San Francisco, ranked No. 1 overall, and Detroit ranked last at No. 150.
