Luxury Mixed-Use Development Breaks Ground on KC Riverfront

Port KC and Flaherty & Collins are teaming up to build a $72 million luxury apartment, retail space and parking garage development. The development will be just northeast of downtown Kansas City and will overlook the Missouri River.
Named Union Berkley Riverfront Park, the development will house 410 apartments, 12,400 square feet of retail space, and a car garage with 400 parking spots for both residents and shoppers. It will offer panoramic views of downtown KC and the riverfront park area.
All apartments will feature high-quality finishes, lighting and appliances, energy-efficient windows, Energy Star washer and dryers and Nest thermostats. Union will also include three furnished guest suites.
The residential amenities will include high-speed Wi-Fi, a coffee/bar shop, fitness center that offers yoga and cycling, a heated saltwater pool and wet deck hot tub, and pet park with a water station and waste area. An outdoor living room will have fire pits, commercial-grade grills and outdoor furniture. The bike shop will have bike storage, repair tools, stands, TVs, post-workout relaxation area, ping pong and beer tap.
Construction is estimated to take 18 months, and developers are aiming to have residents move in mid-2018.
