  Best Dinner Series

  Green Dirt Farm

The popular Farm Table Dinner Series at Green Dirt Farm is an unforgettable culinary adventure. Featuring a unique five-course meal prepared by a series of rotating top chefs using the farm’s grass-based sheep- and cow-milk cheeses and other locally sourced farm fare, the series allows diners to eat under the stained-glass windows of the farm’s gorgeous barn. The dinners are created around seasonal products, so menus are often not finalized until the last minute. It’s all part of the adventure that celebrates eating close to the source of your food. 1099 Welt St., Weston, Mo., (816) 386-2156, greendirtfarm.com

  Best Juice Bar

  Ruby Jean's Juicery

You could say that Chris Goode, owner and CEO of Ruby Jean’s Juicery, created the juice bar as a valentine to his late grandmother, Ruby Jean, who died in July 1999 from complications of a poor diet. Wanting his customers to live healthier and longer lives, Goode strives to create truly healthy beverages and snacks in a welcoming environment. Just thinking about the variety of his juices, performance shakes, grandma’s smoothies and wellness sips makes us feel better. Two area locations, rubyjeansjuicery.com

  Best Wine Bar

  Ça Va

Champagne is technically wine, so we feel we can choose this hidden, romantic bubbly bar in Westport as the Best of KC. It just fizzes with equal parts comfy and rock star. Evoking joie de vivre with its cozy, intimate vibe taken straight from the streets of Paris, its divine menu consists of seasonal and classic Champagne cocktails and a snazzy selection of bottles from Oregon to France. 4149 Pennsylvania Ave., Kansas City, Mo., (816) 255-3934, cavakc.com

  Best Tequila Bar

  Drunken Worm

With a name like Drunken Worm, we had no choice but to name it Kansas City’s best tequila bar. With multiple flavors of infused tequila — we love cucumber — Drunken Worm also offers a variety of drink specials and truly amazing margaritas. Serving up liquid libations and Mexican food on historic 39th Street, Drunken Worm features tequila mezcal specialty cocktails with inspired names like Mustache Ride, Drunken Chihuahua and Spicy Matador. Who wouldn’t love to meet the creative genius behind these names? 1405 W. 39th St., Kansas City, Mo., (816) 326-7209, drunkenwormkc.com

  Best Whiskey Bar

  Tom's Town Distilling Co.

With its 1920s Gatsby-like vibe and enormous walnut bar, hardwood floors and original tin ceiling, Tom’s Town Distilling Co. is downright sexy. Its enticing atmosphere with a view of its distillery just makes you want to have a deep discussion or flirty chat while sipping a variety of whiskey cocktails. Kansas City’s notoriously corrupt political boss Tom Pendergast, for whom the bar is named, undoubtedly would be proud of the joint, and so are we. 1701 Main St., Kansas City, Mo., (816) 541-2400, toms-town.com

  Best Cold Brew

  Broadway Café

An institution in Wesport for 25 years, Broadway Café remains our sentimental favorite as the best place for cup of java, hot or cold. As Kansas City’s first original and independent coffee house, it has a cult following so loyal that the neighboring Starbucks shuttered its doors. Opened in 1992, Broadway Café continues to provide a welcoming gathering place that serves exceptional coffee drinks lovingly prepared by knowledgeable baristas who have a passion for the artistry of a perfectly crafted drink. 4106 Broadway Blvd., Kansas City, Mo., 816-531-2432, broadwayroasting.com
