Multi-Disciplinary Specialty Center
The mission of Dr. Deb’s Center for Child and Family Development is to assist children, youth, parents, families and communities to reach their full potential. Advanced-level professionals from both the medical and behavioral health fields implement a team approach with each child’s treatment. Comprehensive diagnostics are designed to understand the present symptoms that interfere with the child and family’s ability in both specific and general ways. During the diagnostic process, the Center uses a holistic approach to develop a customized plan of care. Together, clients and professionals prioritize individual goals. The intervention process begins with best-fit strategies and methods that apply the most current research from physical medicine to social sciences.
Dr. Debra Galvin, a multidisciplinary professional trained in three fields, founded and directs the innovative, intentionally designed Center for Child and Family Development. This organization is a resource for the Midwest community, located in a family-friendly shopping and lifestyle district of Town Center Plaza in the heart of Leawood, Kan. Dr. Galvin is an accomplished clinician, researcher and educator, whose vision of serving “The Whole Child” is grounded in her commitment to foster seamless access to those professionals best suited to help children and families reach their full potential.
The Center is home to the following professions: genetic research, adolescent and child psychiatry, clinical psychology, developmental and child psychology, educational advocacy, special education experts, and specialists in clinical social work and physical, occupational, speech and music therapy. Members of the Center routinely collaborate with other professionals and community members to ensure they succeed in their mission to help children and families achieve their full potential.
Seeking help from trained professionals whose careers have focused on the “just right” ways to help is easier at the Center. Don’t wait: getting help early is best. Finding the right treatment starts with proper diagnosis. The Center boasts a variety of highly trained specialists.
