Overland Park Resident Anna Glennon Wins Jet Ski Motocross World Championship
Anna Glennon has a need for speed. She’s been riding jet skis since she was a small child and began competing in jet ski motocross racing when she was 15 years old. Now 20, Glennon is a world champion. She competed against the fastest racers in the world at the International Jet Sports Boating Association World Finals, a weeklong competition at Lake Havasu, Arizona, in October. Glennon won a world championship in the Two Stroke Limited class, a highly competitive men’s class that allows heavily modified standup jet skis. She was the first woman to win this class in the history of the competition. Glennon has won numerous regional and national championships in the U.S. and national championships in Canada.
Glennon is a digital media communications student at the University of Central Missouri. She trains at her family’s lake house at the Lake of the Ozarks and is the media and communications manager for a professional dirt bike racing team.
