Conrad Parks, DDS
It didn’t take long after starting dental school for Dr. Conrad Parks to realize he had a passion for taking care of the smallest patients. “I recognized that so many children have a fear of the dentist, and it doesn’t need to be that way,” Parks says. “I try to make each child feel special and have a memorable experience each time they visit my office.”
As a board-certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Parks has specialized training to treat the unique needs of children and young adults. As the father of three young children, he also realizes there is far more to your children than just their teeth. “I try to connect with each patient, find what makes them comfortable and how to make them smile. I think this is so important to build a trusting relationship with both patients and their parents.” At Parks Children’s Dentistry, parents are a vital part of each visit. Children visit the dentist twice a year, and parents are responsible for children’s dental care the rest of the time. “I give parents the tools to care for their children’s teeth at home, including them at the exam and preventive care teaching,” Parks says.
It is never too early to schedule your child’s first dental visit. “I recommend children to have their first visit by the age of 1,” Parks says. “Think of it as a check-up for their teeth!” Starting dental visits young helps children to build a trusting relationship with the dental environment and instills a positive memory.
